You are here:  Admissions > Withdrawals

Students have the responsibility of knowing withdrawal procedures and dates to withdraw. Specific dates of withdrawal are posted to the Admissions Calendar. All drops are accomplished through the Office of Admissions.

No Show Period

Student who have never shown for class are withdrawn by their instructor. In this manner, the student generates no class charges or transcript record for students who "no show" in a class.

Add/Drop Period

Students may withdraw (i.e. "drop") one or all courses during the add/drop period and generate no class charges or transcript record. This add/drop period is the first 10 days of the fall and spring terms or the first 5 days of the summer term.

"W" Grade Period

In the week following the add/drop period, course charges are generated and a transcript record is created for each class in which a student is enrolled. Beginning on the 11th day of the fall and spring terms or the 6th day of the summer term and continuing through the last day of the 12th week of the fall and spring terms and the 6th week of the summer term, students may drop a course and have a "W" grade recorded to the transcript. Advisor signature is required.

"W or F" Grade Period

The week following the "W" Period begins the "W or F" Grade period. During this time, students may drop a course and have either a "W" or "F" grade recorded to the transcript. An instructor assigns either a grade that determines whether a passing (W) or failing (F) grade is recorded to the transcript. The "W/F" Period spans the first day of the 13th through the last day of the 15th week of the fall and spring terms or first day of the 7th week through the day prior to final examinations during the summer term.

Financial Aid - Considerations For Drops

Students who receive federal financial assistance should visit with a representative from the Financial Aid Office prior to withdrawal from all courses that take place during the first 9 weeks of the fall or spring term or the first 4 weeks of the summer term. Withdrawals that take place during these weeks may result in an OVERPAYMENT of financial aid monies.
